Kindergarten Wins {Earth Day Things}

Seriously.

I don’t even know how to begin to tell you how tired I am right now. That big idea “They should be more tired than you at the end of the day” is a load of grits. I didn’t see any five year olds mixing together four boxes of pudding and making dirt today.

No.

Today, Kindergarten wins.

I was feeling the sugar effects from the massive amounts of chocolate that I consumed {confession…I ate dirt too}, but that has long worn off.

It’s amazing what that amount of sugar {pudding was sugar free I might add} can turn a 5 year old in to.

Bless it.

We went out for a little fresh air after the dirt. I had the kiddos color their bag covers and we walked around the school and picked up trash. And by trash I mean mulch because whoever takes care of our school grounds does a surprisingly good job. They were not happy about the amount of trash that they did not get to put in their decorated trash bags.

Before the crazy part of Earth Day happened, we did some writing. Yesterday, I had them write about four things they could do to help the earth. Today, they narrowed it down to one topic and then wrote how they were going to help. If they wrote “save energy” in their graphic organizer, they had to write specifically what they would do to save energy.

When they give me writing that looks like this, I kind of don’t care about crazy dirt or lack of trash.

Some days the exhaustion is worth it 🙂 {mushy smushy}
