Five for Friday

Miracles really do happen. I actually got up early enough without a screaming little one to blog! Woohoo!

People tell you that your life is going to change but they never tell you that your coffee will live in the microwave from the day before with constant beeping or that taking a shower will become a thing of the past.

I wouldn’t trade it for the world though. What an incredible six weeks it has been…so that’s where I’ll start my five.

1. This little goose is six weeks old. She is starting to look so big to me and more like a baby and not really a newborn. Sad City.

2. I thought I had already done this (apparently not) but I have bundled all of my “Just my Type” units. This is a computer station that we do during literacy stations all year. They start off just typing the beginning sounds when we start the year to unscrambling and typing sentences by the end of the year.

3. It makes me so super sad to even relive this (not the wedding…lol…just stick with me).

My sister, might I add my ONLY sister, got married on Saturday and I got sick 10 minutes before the ceremony started. I was able to walk down the aisle, but I didn’t last very long standing up there. Have you ever seen a bridesmaid dart off in the middle of the ceremony before? Y’all, the wedding planner was so worried about me that she had a bucket up there for me in case my body decided to have another round in the middle of the wedding. Of course, I had to leave right after that and I missed everything. I guess it’s a good thing that I was able to do pictures before and at least see my sister but I could throw myself a pity party for quite some time after that little fiasco.

4. How many hours of your life have you spent watching Making a Murderer on Netflix? I’m over here saying that I haven’t gotten much accomplished because of the baby but let’s be honest…

5. I’m not at school this week, but I do know that there will be some learning going on about states of matter. This is one of my favorite units that I do with my kiddos this time of the year. They love going on a “solid search” around the school and experiments with floating and sinking.

Hope your first week back with your kiddos was great!
