Five for Friday

I feel like it was just Friday…but I think my days are moving at lightening speed because this is the month I go back to school! I have so (beyond) enjoyed my time at home with little miss but I am ready to get back to school and see my kiddos!

1. This week, I got back in the classroom for a little bit and started working on plans for April and May. Once I do go back to school, I am hoping not to have to stay too much to do plans. I know I’m going to be racing out to get to see Amelia, so I want to be prepared for when I do get back. While I was there, I snapped a picture of our Dr. Seuss bookshelf! I hope you had fun celebrating Seuss with your kids this week! I know my kids were having fun celebrating!

2. March BUILD stations are up and running this week. I know because I saw it with my own eyes 😉 I also am loving this picture because, that my friends, is a new rug under the math game. After having the same rug since the school opened, I am feeling like the new rug really brings my classroom up a notch! Whew…we needed that badly!

3. Did a blog post this week about word sorts vs. traditional spelling. I have really enjoyed doing word sorts in my classroom for the past couple of years. My literacy coach is very knowledgeable and has helped a lot of us with making these successful in grades K-5. I also like that they start in Kindergarten and the program stays the same throughout their elementary years! Makes so much sense!

4. Getting so excited about the blogger meet-up next weekend at French Lick! I am planning out our 80’s outfit this weekend!

5. Got a lot of comments about this little shopping gadget that I used this week when we went grocery shopping. The web-site is called Binxy Baby. People were asking if it was safe and I can assure you that I wouldn’t put her in anything that I didn’t think was safe! I just like the idea of actually being able to use my shopping cart while grocery shopping rather than trying to stuff groceries around the car seat!

  2. I read your word sort post this week and loved it. Pinned for reference. And I, too, am going to the Bloggers Retreat. I will finally get to meet you! Are you bringing little squeezems? Would love to meet her, as well. 🙂 See you soon. Kathleen
