Five for Friday

Wow.

Now I remember what waking up at 6 a.m. and working for a full week feels like. Talk about a shock to the system. Even though my beauty sleep has suffered, we have been doing all kinds of great things since we’ve been back. Isn’t is amazing how much they “grow up” over the break?

I feel like they are all at least a foot taller!

1. The best handwriting incentive has been font making. One of the second “work” stations that I have out for my kiddos are the iPads. They have been font making machines! If you want to read more about iFontMaker, you can click on the picture and it will take you to the post where I wrote about it. font

2. Look at how uh-mazing my Dad is. He built this construction paper organizer for me. I didn’t realize how much paper I had until I started to organize it all. It’s a bit ridiculous, really. Organization just really does something for the soul. securedownload (5)

3. Our snowmen turned out so cute! This is a follow directions, measurement, and writing activity. I squeezed it all in one day, but I would recommend that you try to do it over at least a two day span. I was about to pull my hair out by the time we finished it! Click on the picture to grab it for free.  securedownload (3) 4. Math is the theme for this post I suppose. This was part of our “addition boot camp”.

Oh my stars.

I think Santa stole their ability to add when he dropped over the presents over the break. securedownload (6)We had a bit of a heart to heart over these addition boards. After our little “boot camp” day, we have been doing muchhhh better! I just posted about it yesterday. Check it out if your kiddos are in need of some addition help (it’s free).

5. I know some of you have been following Hunter and his progress. He is slowly but surely making progress as he continues to recover in Atlanta. He actually had slight controlled movement in his legs this week!  Emily, his mom and fellow K teacher, was staying at the Shepard Center and how is staying at a Marriott in Atlanta. Family can only stay on campus for free of charge for so long before they have to move. If you have Marriott points and would be willing to donate a night or two so Emily can be with Hunter without having to worry about points, that would be unbelievable generous of you! If you would like to help, please send me an e-mail {kickinitinkindergarten@gmail.com}.

Have a wonderful three day weekend!

You’re dad is so nice to make that for you! How do you handle kids taking paper? It would be gone in a week in my room 😉
