It’s been a week…that’s all I can say.

1. Welcome to the new web-site! I took a bit of a step back (lost all of my followers) to hopefully take some steps forward in this adventure of teacher blogging. I am officially off of blogger and a dot-com. I am hoping that will people will be able to find me and teaching resources to help them in their classrooms. I love the idea of teachers from all over the world sharing and collaborating, and I hope that this is the stepping stone for that to happen.  I had an amazing web designer and she helped me link up my own store (still a work in progress) and helped me with all other kinds of plug-ins. It’s still a bit daunting but I am trying to take on the learning curve.

2. Between all of this craziness with the new web-site and school in general, I haven’t had much time to get units together. I really wanted to get a farm unit together. We take a Field Trip to a local farm and we study about apples and pumpkins. The kids have “schema” about farms so it’s a great transition in to teaching them all of the vocabulary and higher order thinking that I want to pull out of them. I try to start with a topic that they are comfortable with. If you click on the picture, it will take you to a post where you can find a giveaway and a freebie 🙂

3. For those of you that don’t know, my husband and I are building a house right now and here is what it looks like. It’s been fun to watch the progress happen each day. I know that once they start to work on the inside it won’t be an instant gratification each day that I drive by so I am taking it in for all it’s worth!

I can’t wait to see the finished product!!!

  2. It is incredible that you are building your own home!! And I too share your excitement about the fall/autumn tv shows that are back on! Downton Abbey being one of them, a big hit over here in the UK!

It is definitely worth the leap forward getting your own ‘dot.com’ and what a fantastic and professional looking website you have! It will all pay off in the long run!

    Best wishes,
