I am embarrassed to even put the old cover up…but you have to see how bad it was to appreciate the new one!
This unit really has nothing to do with Star Wars. When I first started making products for TpT, I had a group of boys that was OBSESSED with Star Wars and less obsessed with reading. In my library, I made a “Star Wars” basket and filled it with Star Wars books…just to get them to put their little paws on a book. Those books have been well loved since that year I put them out.
My second thought was to create a unit that would make them a little more interested in responding to reading. This unit is filled with reading responses that have little Star Wars inspired clip-art that just got my boys interested in what we were talking about. Once they identified the character and chatted about it for a minute, we were able to get in to the actual content.
It’s a little sneaky…I know.
Honestly, I had kind of forgotten about this unit until the new hype about the new Star Wars movie came out. I haven’t had a group quite as pumped about Star Wars as I did when I first made this unit, but my thought is that you might. I also put an option for a “non” Star Wars page for each response. While there are some kids that are overly excited to see Darth Vader, there are those few that are less than enthralled.
I’ve up-dated everything in this unit (because I am seriously embarrassed by the first one…omg) and I’ve reduced the price.
