Let’s get Acquainted…I’m back!

Looks like all of my scheduled posts worked! Woohoo!

I took a day off on Friday and today (i.e. recovery) to spend some time with my hubby and some of my best buddies in Vegas! One of my best friends lives in L.A. and he came out to meet us on Saturday to hang out and go see “O” (cirque show…ah-mazing). We grew up swimming together and he’s like a brother to me.
It was a great weekend and nice to have to time to spend with friends! I heart Vegas 🙂 We probably won’t be going back any time soon…but I was glad to let my hubs see it and experience it for the first time. If you ever go out there, you have to eat at Hash House. I’m still full…
Here’s a couple of pictures from the weekend. It wasn’t as crazy as you might think…we are in our bathing suits in the bottom pictures…not our birthday suits (haha).

Now back to reality!
School is back on tomorrow and we have SO much to get done before the end of the year! Surprisingly enough, our district just moved our end of the year to May 21st instead of May 23rd. They said we didn’t have enough inclement weather days and that teachers needed extra PD for those two days with all of the new material that we are going to be required to know and implement next year.

I loved reading about all of the fun product swaps that were happening! Amanda and I did a little giveaway from comments and here is the winner:

That means Brittany won! Yay! Amanda will be e-mailing you soon with the Math Surveys!

I am going to share my 3 favorite places in my classroom with ya! My all time favorite places are anything that have to do with my seats that I made 🙂 Ha! I love my reading table because I love that time I get with the kiddos when they come and read with me in a small group. I feel like I can engage with them in a more authentic way and they know they have my undivided attention. I also like my literacy station tables around the room because it allows the students to spread out and work together in  pairs or small groups.
My last favorite place in my classroom would have to be my library. My Dad made my shelves for me and there is a couch and a little corner where there is a listening station and pillows. The students can curl up with a good book and I like the organization of it all 🙂 I took a picture of the basket that gets the most action! Even the girls have been loving Star Wars books this year!
Hope everyone had a great day!
