Speaking of Jan Brett…she is my ALL time favorite author/illustrator to study with the kids. I love that she has videos on her web-site that you can follow along with and the kids can illustrate some of her characters. As you can tell from the image below, they have been influenced by my love of Hedgie. The kids did a 4 square writing today on all the things we have learned about her. They could write a fact about her or they could write a title of one of her books in one of the squares.
We also did our football player “Can” “Have” “Are” graphic organizer. SOOOO funny. The boys were so in to it and I told the girls tomorrow we would do the cheerleader and the boys didn’t seem as excited. I have never done the Superbowl before and I have kind of switched to do this instead of Groundhogs.
One more day til Friday (and there’s talk of snow 🙂
