100 Acts of Kindness and Giveaway winners :)

First of all, congrats to Jessica and Ashley for winning the Valentine Literacy Pack! Check your e-mails ladies!
I am so glad that I found this! What a perfect idea and we are starting TODAY! It is free on TpT. This teacher has got the perfect idea for combining 100th day and Valentines day! I love it!
If you were tuning in last week, I talked about how we are dropping morning message for two weeks and having a morning meeting and focusing on a word for the day. Our words/sayings so far have been:
-Respect
-Integrity
-Just Be Awesome!
-Attitude is Everything
-Ownership
-Be a Good Friend
-Always Do Your Best
-Make it a good day!
Some of the books we have read to support these little sayings have been:
The videos we have watched have been:
While my kids are FAB…sometimes taking a little extra time on character education never hurt anyone. A little reminder is a good way to bring up the morale in the classroom. The kids have been so sweet to each other and it has been very smooth and pleasant to be at school. The week before last, I was on the verge of becoming a crazy person. If you have a tattling problem…read Tattlin’ Madeline! It is on their level and really gives them an idea of the difference between tattling and reporting.
Today, we are going to read Big Words for Little People and I am going to introduce our 100 Acts of Kindness. Our 100th day is tomorrow and Valentines day is next Thursday so I think this will be the perfect way to prepare for our 100th day and to tie it all in for Valentines Day. I hope you get a chance to read one of these great books with your kiddos. If you still haven’t watched Kid President…you need to make that a priority! It will make your day!

  1. Elizabeth: I just found your blog, and it seems like perfect timing. My kids are driving me crazy with tattling! I mean, they’re just telling me EVERYthing. So I really am looking forward to reading “Tattlin’ Madeline”. I don’t know if you know it, but another really nice one, especially for next week, is “Roses are Pink, Your Feet Really Stink”. It also ties in nicely to character development, and I have the students write compliment notes to each other. The only rule is they have to be positive.

I was wondering if you could tell me what Spin is (from your About Me)? I also have some freebies for Valentine’s Day on my blog, if you’d are to stop by.

  2. Hey Sharon!
Thank you for your comment! I so appreciate the book idea! I have really been trying to do as much character education as possible for the past two weeks. It looks like we are going to be doing it next week as well 🙂 Spin is an indoor cycling class. It’s something that I started during college and just carried after I was out of college. I was going to do it anyways so I might as well get paid to do something I would be doing anyways 🙂

  3. I LOVE Jessica’s affirmations! We shared this at a staff meeting one time last year.
