Five for Friday!

fiveforfriday

I am having a long weekend…don’t judge me! I’m also kind of doing this whole week backwards since I am starting with today…
I may or may not currently be in Vegas. Listen, Kindergarten teachers understand my need for a long weekend! I will share pictures once I get back πŸ™‚

1. So my number one this week is that I am taking a little time to relax and spending time with friends in Vegas (I’ve got 2 personal days so it’s ok :). Nothing too crazy! Just really fun to get away and not have to stress out with school. I have a fabulous sub today so I know they are in great hands! I came here for my bachelorette party almost two years ago and I am so happy to bring back the hubs! He’s never been here before and I am glad to have him this time!

2. I posted about this yesterday, but I’m having an Earth Day Sale. I totally missed the whole spring cleaning sale that everyone did a few weeks ago and I haven’t had a sale in a while so here ya go! Feel free to grab the image if you are having a sale this weekend too!Β
3. We got to go on our Field Trip this week to see the live performance of Go, Dog! Go. We had to reschedule from last week and go yesterday. This was my favorite book as a little girl so it was fun to see it! The kids loved it!Β
4. Nothing earth shattering but I got my toes painted a fabulous color.Β
OPI Charged up Cherry.Β
Here’s the thing…I always go with the same color and I saw this one and just had to get out of my Elephantasitc Pink comfort zone. My feet look freaky with those toe separators but I sent this picture to my sister so she would be jealous πŸ™‚ I’m such a good sis!
Boom…done.Β
5. I didn’t find out until what happened in Boston until late Monday night. I must live under a rock…This is another example of how precious life is and how we can’t take on day off from telling those that we love how we feel and saying today instead of tomorrow.Β
Β I’m not even going to say the world is a scary place because I truly believe that goodness outweighs the bad. I feel like the media just focuses all of the energy on the bad because that’s what sells. We don’t see footage of people going to Africa to work in an orphanage all summer (my friend that I teach with) or people taking a year out of their life to travel around the world with World RaceΒ (my room-mate from college). So if you get anything from this tragedy…find goodness and kindness and know that the candle of good will always burn evil. And always remember Mr. Rogers.

  6. My teaching partner is in Vegas right now too! I have never been. I also keep saying I’m going to get a pedicure, but I have yet to do it. I have been saying it for three weeks. Today it was snowing and I just can’t get one unless I am going to be able to wear sandals. Have fun girly! Can’t wait to post about your fab product tomorrow for the swap!

  10. Have you ever been to the SDE conference in Las Vegas? I bet you would love it! I do have to say it gets a little hot there in July, but why go outside!! The Boston Marathon tragedy was/is horrible. I love your quote. I hope you have a blast in Vegas!
