Party time!!! 5 for Friday!

Well, maybe I’m not actually going to a party but I may as well be because I am so relieved it’s Friday. Do you ever have one of those weeks that you feel like will nevvveerrrr end?  I think most of it has to do with the fact that the hubs and I have seen each other a grand total of 3 days out of the past 20 so I am so ready to have a weekend together!

Here’s a little bit of my week!

1. This made my laugh out loud when I saw it on First Grade Smiles blog:

I am working on signing up this summer for PD and I think that all of my blog stalking hours should count!
2. I started working on my Earth Day unit this week. I may or may not have only finished the front cover…I know what I’ll be doing this weekend 🙂
3. It was autism awareness day on Tuesday of this week. I had a lot to be thankful for and to appreciate this week. This has been by far my most difficult but rewarding year of teaching I have had. I am so thankful for my little guys this year <3
4. Mrs. Pauley and I hit 200 followers!!! Woot Woot! We are going to be hosting a fab giveaway (hopefully tomorrow). She’s a wonderful bloggy bud and I am so excited to have hit that milestone together! Come back tomorrow to see what we have for ya 🙂

5. Kim from The Very Busy First Graders and I did a Fairy Tale swap this week! I sent her my unit and she sent me her unit.  These books were hilarious and the kids really enjoyed reading the different versions from the various characters point of view.
Here are some examples of the writing you can find in Kim’s unit!

So fun!
Is anyone else teaching (or taught) Fairy Tales this year?

    • Amanda and I decided to kick back tonight and drink a glass of wine so it might be later on tomorrow 🙂 haha Hope you had a great week!

  2. That comic is too funny! I actually do list it-not the hours, but I put that I blog and that should count as “collaborating with colleagues”. I love doing a unit on fairy tales!

  3. Umm if blog stalking doesn’t count for professional development I don’t know what does! =)

Your cover page looks great! At least you started! That’s better than I can say!

Congrats on 200! How exciting to have a friend to hit that milestone with! Can’t wait for the giveaway to go live!

    • Haha, I know! It’s almost as funny (maybe funnier) as the “Your kid makes me want to OD on birth control.” I probably have it somewhere on this blog. I laugh every time 🙂

  6. Yay! Congrats on 200 followers. A few weeks about we did a mini-unit on point of view using the fractured fairy tales. It was SO much fun and even my boys love the tales. 🙂
