Back Pack and Giveaway

Not like a backpack…but a pack for K that is back 🙂 Even though they aren’t technically back since this is the first time they are coming to “big school”. Should have thought that one through…
I’m deliriously tired right now. I have been so excited about getting this together and using it this year. My obsession with clip art and fonts is now beyond fixing. I should probably have my own intervention.
I blogged about sweet Linda and her fabulous clip art a few weeks ago. Her back to school images are the feature of my newest shiniest product…woot woot!
I just think they are so cute!
This is 50 pages to help you get through the first couple of days and maybe even a week or two. The main reason for this bundle is to help me keep all of my thoughts together and organized through the chaos of the beginning of the year. Of course, we’ve done half of the activities already and I haven’t taken a single picture because it is c.r.a.y. up in here. There is a beginning of the year Wednesday Word Problem in here and we did it today. Do you think I took a picture of their work?
Nope.
I’d love to share with you (this is included in the pack but thought you might like to try it 🙂 though and I would also love to give away one of these bad boys!
Wednesday Word Problems have been the perfect way to:
1. Make sure we are focusing on Common Core.
2. Promote higher order thinking.
I have done Wednesday Word Problems since I started teaching. I can’t tell you how effective they have been. By the end of the year, students are able to locate the information they need in the word problem and solving addition and subtraction problems independently. But I start now…the first week of school. And we do it every week and don’t miss because it’s important and valuable. The kids love getting their clipboard and sitting on the carpet while we think through the problems together every week. Sometimes, we act it out and usually manipulatives are involved.
