I wish I could say I like indoor recess, but I have a hard time keeping the crazy at bay during this arctic blast! I don’t do single digits! I know most of you are feeling the same way this frigid week (except those of you that actually get some snow and are getting to have snow days)!
I tried to take them outside on Tuesday first thing because it was the only hour of the entire week that it was going to be above freezing. It was so cold that my eyes started to water and then the water from my eyes proceeded to freeze to my cheeks. So that outside experience lasted for a whopping five minutes.
Because of all of this cold weather, we haven’t been able to go outside. Jamie from Cosmic Kids Yoga has been my BFF {click on the picture and it will take you to the YouTube Channel}.
The kids are mesmerized with her. They do everything she tells them to do because 1. They are silly yoga poses and 2. She talks and tells yoga stories with an accent.
I am going to start talking like Jamie.
It’s been a saving grace this week.
What types of indoor recess videos/activities do you do with your students? I am open to more thoughts because it looks like I am going to need to embrace this whole indoor recess thing. It’s supposed to be just as cold next week too!

Thank you SO much for the great indoor recess tip! I immediately bookmarked Cosmic Kids Yoga…I am so going to try it with my firsties (as soon as all of the snow melts and we go back to school!). Check out http://adventuretofitness.com/. Great website that is both educational and gets your kiddos up and moving.
Hang in there…spring will be here some day!
