It’s time to start planning for another week 🙂 Peek at my week is ready to go!

This week, we are going to be reading Wishy Washy and starting to re-tell using pictures and “story-telling” voices. I have the kids color the pictures and then use a re-telling pouch to re-tell the story using tub/mud pictures. This is actually the lesson that I’m going to be using for my first observation this school year 🙂

I also assess the kids on characters to see if they understand what the word means. We discuss characters from the beginning of the week and then students can either (depending on how much time you have) color or circle the characters to identify them.

I also have some other great Wishy Washy stories that my kids always love reading after we read Wishy Washy. One of their favorite’s is Mrs. Wishy-Washy’s Birthday because who doesn’t love to talk about a birthday party? This is also the week that we really start to talk about labeling so I always ask kids to start labeling their pictures to tell me more about what’s going on in their illustration.

Here is my bookshelf for the week for kids to read about the farm and 5 senses.
