Music is part of my day.

I almost feel like it’s a necessity. I use it for transitions, content, movement…etc. I just can’t imagine what my day would look like without it.

Obviously, you can’t use the same kind of music. I thought it was interesting that there was a statement in there about classical music and math. I always use it during writing, but I may have to start during math as well.

Here are some of the songs that I use on a daily basis.

Dr. Jean: Tidy Up and Lunch Time Round Up

I also really like Heidi Songs for her calendar songs and we sing them before we do calendar each day.

I have tried to come up with songs that are set to popular music. This year, I came up with a song “All About That State” {set to the tune of “All About That Bass” to teach about what state we live in. Of course, GoNoodle is another way we incorporate music while we are dancing and moving.

I also have some other songs that I really love:

Harry Kindergarten, Jack Hartman, and Roger Day are among my favorites.

See you guys back for Chapter 12 on Saturday!

Comments

  1. I love the idea of using popular songs to create songs for the classroom. I know the kids would go crazy to sing a song set to a song they hear on the radio!

  2. It’s such an awesome find when I come across a classroom song that uses a popular song’s tune…I gotta go check the one out that you mentioned!
