Happy no school week to YOU! I hope that you are enjoying your mornings just as much as I am. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy the entire day but mornings are the best. The instant you wake up and realize you don’t actually have to get up if you don’t want to.
Pure bliss.
And since there isn’t a lot going on in terms of school, I thought I would link up with my friend Abby for her Christmas Conversation linky party. Of course, Christmas starts in our family about a week before it actually starts. We start watching Christmas movies every night. We decorate gingerbread houses and run around getting everything together. It’s a production, as I’m sure it is with your family as well 🙂
The book situation will probably change once I have kids of my own. Right now, I love reading “Who’s that Knocking on Christmas Eve” by Jan Brett because of the reaction I get from my kids when I read it. Most of them have never heard it before and they love making predictions and they always laugh really hard when I read it. I’m thinking once I have kids of my own it will be something like “The Night Before Christmas” or something like that.
Have you had boiled custard? You haven’t LIVED if you have not.
This was my Monday night.
Every year we do gingerbread houses. This was us on Sunday. It always turns in to a competition somehow and my sister and cousin always win. Next year, I’m going in with a plan from Pinterest (which they don’t know yet).
For the past three years, my husband has gotten us Matt Wertz holiday tickets. One of his songs was our wedding song. We traveled around all through college to watch him play. He’s a Nashville native and it just doesn’t feel like Christmas without going to see him. We’ve made it our little yearly thing that we do each year and it’s kind of special. If you need a good holiday album…I highly recommend this one!
And lastly, the movies. Maybe the best part of the holiday break. I have White Christmas on pause at the moment.
I can’t just give you one. There are too many good ones.
