Color Words

Color Words Color Words')"> This 35 page unit was created to help you teach or review color words with your students (teaching duration is 2 weeks).

*You can use these pages as morning work or during literacy stations.

This unit includes:

  • Color word book suggestions
  • The first set of 11 words (Level 1) focus just on color words. Have students use a colored pencil, crayon, or marker to compete the color and trace parts. Then have students cut out the letters and build the word to complete the sentence. I would use these pages for students that have not mastered or not been introduced to color words.
  • The second set of 11 color words (Level 2) are for students that know their color words and can follow more complex directions. There are two parts that review number sense and number writing. To keep it themed with color, have students use colored pencils, makers or crayons to complete the activities.
  • Students can complete the color word emergent reader independently (if they can read basic sight words) or whole group. Students should trace the color word and color the corresponding picture.
