We have been learning about Farms this week along with The Five Senses and Community Helpers. Whenever I can’t find a fab resource to use (there are so many!) I just make my own. And then I get a bit carried away…and a unit is born.
So here is my newest creation…
We have been doing positional words in math. If you click on the picture, you can get your own copy of this activity from the unit.
Today, we made rhyming flip books. This was a perfect activity to practice rhyming words and following directions!
I put up farm words all around the room and one of the literacy stations this week is to write the words that they find. They love getting to write with fancy pens, sunglasses, and clipboards.
For this beginning sound activity, students match up picture cards with the correct letter and this is the recording page that goes with it.
You can win this unit if you enter in the Rafflecopter giveaway. I lost all of my followers with the switch so I am shamelessly promoting…sometimes you just have to 🙂
Happy almost Friday!
So sorry you lost all your followers. I love your work.
Ha it’s ok 🙂 It’s kind of like take one step back to take 2 steps forward!
I love to teach apples and Fall even though I live and teach in sunny South Texas. We just hung our real leaves that I pressed and laminated 15 yrs. ago and use every year. The color is still just as vivid as when I first got them.
I think this my favorite time of the year in terms of teaching. I love all books about Fall and leaves too!
Hi Elizabeth! I just had to tell you how much I APPRECIATE your post about uploading something to your blog. Oh my goodness! I just did it for the first time- all thanks to you! AND I thanked you and mentioned that you had a new website, so people needed to come back over and re-follow you! THANK YOU again! 🙂 I did a post about making butter with my class, so I guess that is what I like to teach this time of year. We are just reviewing all of the letters- and made butter for b! 🙂 Your blog is fabulous as always!

Fall and fall colors–leaves, nuts, squirrels 🙂 I love going on a nature walk when it finally cools off (we have hot weather for so long).
