It’s my first Five for Friday post! I haven’t done one yet this year and I’m finally joining the party!
It’s been the week of Wishy-Washy. The kids love this story every year. I can’t lie that I think I might love it just as much as they do. We read the original book but we have some of the other Wishy-Washy books from Hameray. One of their favorites is “Mrs. Wishy-Washy’s Birthday”. What kid doesn’t love talking about birthdays?
We’ve been typing a lot. They were touching the screen and trying to swipe, but other than that we are on our way. They are now using their little pointer fingers to tappity-tap on the keyboard. It is amazing to see them come in so technologically savvy but they have no idea how to use a keyboard!
My student teacher is leaving us next Thursday and I am SAD! She has been such a great addition to our classroom and huge mega help to me. It’s also a plus that the kids love her so we are going to miss her when she goes!
We (and by we I mean me and my hubby) are going to see The Avett Brothers on Saturday night. If you haven’t listened to their music, it’s perfect Fall weather-rolling down your windows-drinking a pumpkin spice latte sort of music. I may just hit up Starbucks before we go 🙂
I am teaching a 1,000 calorie spin ride next Saturday. I am teaching with two other instructors and it’s a bit of a competition. I am all Beyonce and they are all Madonna and Katy Perry. I thought this shirt might help me win some extra points.
I might also wear it to school the following Monday.
Have a fabulous Friday 🙂
I love your post! I teach K also and love working out too. Good luck with your competition =)
lol to the kids trying to swipe their fingers on the screen!
I cracked up when I read that your kiddos want to tap the screen instead of the keyboard – it is so true though! They are used to those tablets or phones I guess! I need to do Mrs. Wishy Washy with my class! I keep hearing all about the fun activities from other teacher bloggers but I haven’t done it yet! I better get on that 🙂 Happy first Five for Friday post! They are fun!
