Five for Friday…Hallelujah!

fiveforfriday2_thumb[3]

I feel like I crawled on my hands and knees to Friday this week. Holy Christmas

Must.

Make.

It.

Between Holidays Around the World, parentgifts, sickness, trips, parties, student gifts, holiday program, and just the general time of year…I might sleep for the entire two weeks of break.

1. Here are the parent gifts I made this year! They are just thumb print ornaments. My Mom came and helped me do them so they weren’t too hard to make. Just a little messy 🙂 I, of course, used washable paint and after the kids did them, they all chipped. I had to go back and peel off the cracked paint and fix it with a paint pen. Note to self: washable paint doesn’t work on glass #dwerp. securedownload (30)

2. The house is painted!

Well, sort of painted.

It’s getting there…

 3. We are still in planning mode for our Nashville meet-up…it is a week from tomorrow! The giveaway items have already started rolling it. Chandra (she is planning on being at the meet-up!) from C. Jayne Teach dropped off this wonderful basket of goodies and Amy from TpT sent us some gift certificates to giveaway. I also love me some American Reading Company. A huge box of books arrived on my front porch last night. My kids are obsessed with these books! They are the best non-fiction books I have ever come across. You would be one lucky duck to bring some of these books back to your classroom!

There are more boxes rolling in between now and our meet-up next Saturday in Nashville. If you are planning on attending, please sign up on our goolge docs so we can send you 1499473_560617264031528_1061541902_n

4. Some up-dates on Hunter. If you are just now stumbling upon my blog, please read a little bit about my teaching partner’s son. He suffered a major spinal cord injury on December 7th. It has been one of the most difficult things to watch a friend go though. It has also been especially hard because I am close with her kids.

Eyes watering.

Throat tight.

Please go read his story and keep your prayers coming. There are so many of you out there that I know are following his story and sending your love his way. I can’t tell you how uplifting and encouraging that has been for both Emiy and Hunter. He is a good kid and pretty funny so I would like for some of his humor to return as he continues to heal. Click on his picture if you would like to help Emily and Hunter with some big finacial hurdles they are going to be facing as they continue to go through therapy.   845baec9ad3b49acbc3ddeed089ed5b0

5. To leave you on a high note before the break…

You’re welcome.

Happy Christmas Break!
