1. This girl is officially on Thanksgiving Break after today!
2. I got a little inspired from my friend Cara {The First Grade Parade} and had to create this chalk art for the bathroom. I saw it on her Instagram a few weeks a I’m just now getting around to actually doing it. I’m pretty excited with the outcome!
3. This post has a freebie in it. If you’re anything like me, then you like free stuff too 🙂 It’s not the MOST exciting thing ever to teach but it’s a standard soooo many as well make it cute {life motto}.
4. Yesterday, teachers and students stayed after school to paint clipboard chalkboard for students in Africa. One of our fabulous second grade teachers {and also one of my really good friends} is going to Africa to deliver them to students that don’t have anything. By anything I mean paper, pencils, desks, books…the things we take for granted. The idea is to have a writing surface and something they can use for quick response {chalk}. I’m excited to see their faces when she comes back with pictures.
It also puts things in to perspective for me and our kids. It kind of makes me feel like I should never complain about anything EVER again…
5. If you haven’t seen yet, there is an IG loop happening. If you have IG then you don’t want to miss this! There are 20 of us participating so your chances of winning something are pretty good! It is only going on for 24 hours and started yesterday so make sure you get over there and comment and loop around so you have a chance to win something fab.
That’s it! I’m off to have my last day for a week.
Enjoy whatever kind of break you get this Thanksgiving…you deserve it!
LOVE LOVE LOVE your chalk art! Wish I was that talented!
What a wonderful service project to make chalkboards. Makes everyone feel good, a win-win! Enjoy your break!
