GoNoodle is Hoppin’!

Y’all know how it goes at the beginning of the school year. If you are a K-1 teacher, then you know that it can be extra “exciting” when the year starts out. Our Kinder babies are always full of lots energy.

To me {and I’m sure to a lot of you} the most important part of the day is in the morning when we have our morning meeting. This is the part of the day where we all come together and get the day started off right.

On Mondays and Fridays I let the kiddos go around and talk about their weekends. It also gives me an opportunity to talk to the students about character ed. and the goals for the day.

But, we also love to MOVE it in the morning!

Research shows {Ratey,2008…I’m not in high school anymore but I think that’s how you cite stuff?} that kids who exercise and move see substantial boosts in intelligence-test scores and core subjects at school, compared to those kids that don’t move.

I want my kids to be up during our morning meeting. It’s not just about me talking to them!

We gotta move to get those ants out.

There are so many wonderful brain breaks out there but {HELLO!?!?} none better than GoNoodle! My kids love their brain breaks and I may jump in and do it with them.

Sometimes, we dance on tables…

We might do some yoga here and there.

Maximo is their favorite GoNoodle break in the morning. How stinkin’ cute is he? The picture of my students from last year was from another yoga video so I thought I would show you a picture of what Maximo looks like.

The graphics are amazing!

There are kids hopping around the room at times.

GoNoodle is teacher tested and 100% kid approved. Holly, Hope, and I loved testing out some new brain breaks at the SDE conference in Vegas this summer.

There is even {just putting it out there} a {glup} video.

Our morning meeting might not be one that you are envisioning from start to finish. I can tell you that the students love it! I am always finding that I do not having to redirect as much after we take time out of the morning routine to brain break.
