Hug a Bug!?! Freebie :)

We are getting critters next week! EEKKKKKKK!!!
Yes, I did just do shouty caps…sorry 🙂
The kids love getting the millipedes, goldfish, snails, guppies etc… and I am such a girly girl (really?!? I know that’s what you’re thinking) that I just squirm every time I walk to the back of the room.
I am just glad that I don’t have jailbreaks from the centipedes that first grade has. Somehow those sneaky critters can make their way all the way down the hall and in to our classrooms overnight. There are more shrill screams (mostly me) coming from the K-1 the last couple of weeks of school than I’d like to count. There are also quite a few fish that take the plunge down the tiny toilet in my classroom…
Because I am way over dramatic, I will be posting pictures and daily bug chronicles until the end of school!
Anyways, here is a fun poem that we do the week that they arrive!
You are more than welcome to grab it!
It’s a great way to work on expression and fluency (or roller coaster voice as we like to call it).
Do you get critters in your classroom?

Comments

  1. We had been getting caterpillars in our rooms for a long time. We didn’t this year, but our teacher down the hall received a ton of bugs because of a grant she wrote. I could care less! 🙂

    Cute poem!

  3. I truly wish I could be a critters in the classroom type of teacher, but I’m not. I know my kids would love it. Maybe one of these years. 🙂

  4. I have nasty bugs! Ants, centipedes, millipedes, and many that I can’t identify. Gross!
