Hi friends.
Any of you that follow me or follow the Kindergarten land of teacher bloggers, might know about MacKale McGuire.
MacKale is the amazing son of Marsha McGuire who is the phenomenal face behind A Differentiated Kindergarten.
People ask me all the time what it is that I have learned the most about being a blogger…and it always comes back to the relationships and the friendships that I have made with so many different educators all over the world. Another thing I have learned is there is a bond like no other. We all celebrate our classrooms and ideas together. More importantly when one of us is hurting or in need of prayers…we find a way to be there for each other. Social media can really be a powerful tool when it is used in the right way. We all have a love and respect for each other that goes way deeper than our classroom ideas and pinterest worthy projects.
MacKale was born with hemophilia which is a genetic bleeding disorder. Marsha wrote a beautiful blog post when they first found out. I highly encourage you to read it as well as follow her blog dedicated to their journey with MacKale. This past Fall, sweet MacKale was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, which is a type of cancer.
My heart broke when I read her post and I have been keeping up with MacKales journey since I first read about it. This boy has a heart of gold and in every picture he has a smile on his face usually paired with a thumbs up. When you read his posts and see Marsha’s up-dates, you can’t help but just fall in love with this incredible little boy.
Like I told you before, when one of us is in need…the rest of us ban together to help. This brings me to the point of my post.
Abby Mullins (The Inspired Apple) is helping me host a Matilda Jane show for MacKale and Marsha by raising money for Osteosarcoma through the Zach Sobiech Fund.
This organization directly impacts the type of research for the type of cancer that MacKale has. Matilda Jane will write a check to the Zach Sobiech fund based on a percentage of the show.
I have always loved Matilda Jane since I started teaching and the little girls in my class would always wear it. Then I found out that they sold women’s clothing and it was game over. I started wearing them my first year teaching and have been a fan ever since. Once I had Amelia…I knew that I had to have it ALL for her! I am so thankful that I have become a trunk keeper with them because of what they stand for (keeping little girls little) and the heart of the company is giving back.
They have the BEST teacher clothes ever.
And the baby, little girl, and tween clothing is absolutely precious.
I have included instructions on how to order. There is a video (super short…only 2 minutes) with how to create a wish-list. Abby Mullins is your Jane for the show. You can start sending me wish-lists on Friday and on through Saturday. The show will run until 12 p.m. Sunday CST.
Here are step by step instructions is video tutorials aren’t your thing.
We also have a facebook group set up, click here or on the picture to request to join.
Thank you for joining in the fight against osteosarcoma for MacKale and others that have battled or are currently battling this disease.
