Nashville Blogger Meet Up!

Holy food is all I can say.

I am so glad that I wore my elastic pants today because I have a case of the meat sweats from all of the food that was consumed at Monell’s this morning. I tried to warn everyone that they should just go ahead and unbutton their top button of their pants before we sat down. I had my Joey Thanksgiving pants on (Friends reference…sorry for you if you don’t get it). I got to hang out with some of my favorite people this weekend and some new friends! Holly and I got our pre-Vegas plan mapped out.  According to Greg,  the 2013 Nashville Blogger/Follower Meet Up was an epic success!

I could not be happier with our lunch at Amerigo! I mean, how do you start a meetup without pasta? Everyone needs to carbo-load for the amount of talking that was about to take place. Josh and Ali did an amazing job taking care of us and and making sure that our lunch went perfectly!
Greg and I love this picture because the manager of Amerigos (you know, our pal Josh) ran out in to the middle of the street to grab this shot. Apparently, the lense that Greg ordered (and I just did too…) doesn’t have a zoom!?! I can only imagine what lengths we are going to have to take to get the shot that we want. Josh proved that running in the middle of the road is just part of it…
After lunch, Greg and I got to give away some prizes. This was probably my favorite part! We were given some seriously amazing prizes for people to take home. I love getting to help teachers in whatever way possible. If a smelly marker makes your world just a little bit happier, my job is done here. I have to say, I am a bit jealous of all of the fabulous-ness that everyone got to walk away with!
We had prizes from Hameray Publishing, Oriental Trading, Teacher Created Resources, Classroom Friendly Supplies, American Reading Company and C. Jayne Teach

I can’t begin to tell you what a huge deal it was to be able to giveaway so many great prizes and it wouldn’t have been possible without these companies that love teachers!

After lunch, we got to battle the traffic at Oprymills (which is right next to the Opryland hotel). After honking my horn for at least a minute straight (sorry for my road rage Holly) we snagged a parking spot and ran through the rain to (again) eat! After enjoying our tasty meal together, we headed over to Ice! where we got to wear some extremley flattering blue parkas.

How can I say this?

We looked hot.

Monell’s is my go to. If anyone comes in town, that’s where I take them. I am an experienced Monell’s attendee, so I never wear pants that button.
I mean…rookie mistake.
You gotta wear stretch pants if you go to Monell’s. So take note.
We are so grateful to everyone that made it to our meetup. You can go ahead and mark your 2014 calendars again for next year. We will be having the meetup again the same time a year from now so don’t miss out!

    Aw Elizabeth, I sad I missed it! Was thinking of you and Holly! I did mark it on my calendar and hope it will coincide with a Christmas visit to my family in Texas next year! I’m hoping I’ll get to see you both in Vegas this summer. I’m already planning on it! xoxo l
