We’ve got a busy week planned ahead. We are going to be studying about transportation, science tools and environmental print. I am in the midst of putting my transportation unit together as we speak, and it should be done in the next couple of days. I just want to try it out with my kids and blog about it first so hang tight 🙂
Here are my books that I have out for my kids to read and for us to read as read-alouds. I always have people asking me if I let students read the books off of the shelf, and the answer is YES!
One of the science rotations we are doing on Thursday is with magnifying glasses. The kiddos have to search for the picture with the magnifying glass and then match the picture to the number on the recording page. They also are going to be working with thermometers, magnets and scales.
We are going to be learning about environmental print this week, and I always have the students create their own book with words that they can read. Talking to students about how they are already readers and building that foundation is so very important.
I also have them create their own “I Like” book. Then they feel confident that they have a book-let that they can read on their own. I have this template as a freebie in my TpT store.
Here are the units I’m pulling from this week.
I’m still in the process of finishing this one, but will let you know as soon as I’m finished!
Have a fabulous week!
