It’s a short week here this week and we have a Field Trip!
I’m going to be lucky to get half of these plans done!
My bookshelf is a little bit of a mix this week. I’ve got fairy tales and some spring books. On short weeks like this, I try to extend a unit or do something that doesn’t have a lot of content. Since I could teach Fairy Tales all year, it’s easy to do a short week with them and extend what we did last week.
We are starting Guiding Kinders Unit 6 this week and I’m setting up new April BUILD stations! I can NOT believe it’s already April! I also can’t believe I’m only on Unit 6 but I think the amount of snow/ice days have something to do with that…
I am starting a new Lucy Calkins unit of study this week. I kind of flip flop back and forth between different work-shops that I like and where I think my students are based on their interests/writing abilities/pace…etc. I order Steno Pads each year and we talk about why writer’s write. I have my own steno pad that I keep in my bag where I jot down ideas, grocery lists, to-do lists…etc. I do this because I want to show it to my kids when I do this lesson.
I have a post from last year with more information and a freebie you can use if you would like!
