This feels crazy going back to work! I went back for one full day before Spring Break and then it was a week off so I don’t think I was officially “back”. You are now looking at a week full of actual lesson plans written by me. I feel like I’m having to shake off the dust here a little. I took a week off of blogging so I could soak up the whole week with my little one and then come back feeling a little refreshed and ready for the week.
It does help that we have a field trip on Friday!
One of my all time favorite authors is Oliver Jeffers and I have a little bit of time this week to do an author study on him. I picked out my favorite books but I’m not going to get to all of them #notime #toomuchtodo
But, I do have his books on display so the kids can browse.
One of our standards is day and night sky so I created a unit that we could use this week. I think that day and night correlates well with Oliver Jeffers.
The Way Back Home is one of my favorite stories. It works out because the setting of the story is in space 🙂 We will be reading this one this week for sure!
Another book that I’m going to be sure to make time for is Stuck. Last year, the kids were belly laughing so it is a must again this year!
Friday is a field trip and this is one of my favorite writing activities that we do. It’s a great way for the kids to reflect and quickly share something they learned. It’s a freebie so grab it!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and a Happy Easter!
Thanks for sharing! My district is in flux about how to “deal with Kindergarten.” We are not considering early childhood but we aren’t necessary primary either. It was nice to see how other K teachers plan their days. So nice that you have “work time” rather than blocks. Can you (or if you have already) share how you do your Go Math and Math “block.” I have recently decided to tear out my Go Math pages and put them in math folders. My groups now rotate through 3 stations and I can pull small groups as needed.
